 Molly Dragiewicz, Ph.D., and Walter DeKeseredy, Ph.D., of the Criminology, Justice and Policy Studies faculty of the University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Pat Kelleher, Executive Director of Brockton Family and Community Resources, Inc. in MA, and Red Crowley, formerly of Men Stopping Violence in Atlanta and now of Haven House in NM. Hosted by Barbara Hart, Muskie School and BWJP.

Molly Dragiewicz will address the Roots of Domestic Violence in Patriarchy in part based on both “Patriarchy Reasserted:  Fathers’ Rights and Anti-VAWA Activism,” Feminist Criminology, Vol. 3, No. 2, April, 2008 and  “Understanding the Complexities of Feminist Perspectives on Woman Abuse,”  Violence Against Women, Vol. 13, No. 8, August, 2007

Walter DeKeseredy will discuss Patriarchal Peer Support based in part on “Separation/Divorce Sexual Assault:  The Contribution of Male SupportFeminist Criminology, Volume 1, No. 3, July, 2006.

Pat Kelleher and Red Crowley will reflect on the research presentations and suggest applications to the work with survivors and abusers.

Content: The series is intended to inform practitioners about significant research findings related to women's experience with intimate partner and sexual violence.  The audioconferences also seek to promote dialogue between researchers and practitioners - to examine methods, findings and implications of research in the field and to foster collaboration in research design, analysis and utilization. 

Registration: This audioconference series is open to OVW grantees and the general public.  If you are an OVW Arrest grantee, please use your OVW-issued grant number.  If you are NOT an Arrest grantee, you MUST use following code to register: 2007-WEAX-1801.  This number is only valid for the Muskie School Series.  Please do not use it for other Arrest Grant trainings.
